Well, we all survived the first day!! My dad has had our main computer since Saturday trying to redeem it from some sort of virus so will go get it within the next few days and get my pictures posted. For now I will recap the day for everyone.
We both got the kids ready and walked them to school (a special treat for Chase when he normally rides the bus). Even though the bus gets our neighborhood of kids it really isn't that far a walk. They were both very excited for the first day!!! We lucked out... Tatum got Chase's Kindergarten teacher (and she is awesome) and Chase got his football coach's wife who is very sweet!!
Chase (our big 2nd grader) was excited to see all his friends again and see his cool teacher!! We got him to his line-up and took Tatum into class. Tatum was quiet/taking it all in but did smile and wave bye to us after getting her all settled in class. She is sitting next to two of Chase's friends' younger brothers (so familiar faces) and across from a cute little girl named Emily!!! Definately hard for me...but she was a trooper and very excited to be starting Kindergarten!!!
I spent the day grocery shopping ...by myself ...with no children fighting up and down every isle!! Not my own at least!? Then I spent the afternoon making and decorating a 1st day of school cake for them which they were very excited about!!
They both had a great day!! Chase said he had to do a lot of hard work but loves his class and teacher!! Tatum loved doing "arts and crafts", experiencing recess and riding the bus home with Chase! Once they were home Tatum got on her play cell phone and called a boy in her class...was too funny! and starting way too soon!! I did find out, when putting her to bed last night, that there was a lunch mishap..she didn't get her lunchbox in the bucket bound for the lunchroom so didn't have a lunch?? She said "the cooking lady" gave her apples, carrots and milk and she ate her lunch back in her teacher's room afterwards. Poor little thing! Just hoping she has it down now for today? It is all so new!!
All in all a sucessful 1st day and they are both excited for the year!! I have signed up to be Tatum's "classroom mom" and weekly helper in Chase's class and plan to go have lunch with both of them at school this week!!! Today I shall follow the bus to school, stalk my children and make sure Tatum gets to the right spot where her class lines up...it's just what I do!!! Will get our cute pictures up soon...........

We were thinking about you all too. I can't believe your children are both in school and we've never seen them!! Have got to remedy that - and soon!
