The Great Pet Debate

Our routine trip to Petsmart the other day has, as it usually does, brought on new pet desires to my children. What should be a quick trip through for dog and fish food turns into "what pet can we get next?". Normally Tatum hangs out by the cats and goes so far as to pick one out. Well on this particular trip they both came onto the mice and hamsters. As always my answer is "NO"...we have a dog and just finished farming out the 20+ fish we bred! I won't even go into my whole story about the ONE fish we picked out that was apparently the trampy fish in the store aquarium.
Well, there was this horrible woman in the store with her kids going on and on to Chase and Tatum about what wonderful pets hamsters are and that I should get some. She also mentioned that there is a certain kind that bite (I heard this clearly...the kids did not!). So now they have begun pestering me for hamsters. Jim attempted to redeem things by offering up a snake! "What???" "Things are getting worse!!"
Remembering my own childhood, my mom let us have every pet imaginable which either she is to be commended or checked?? We decided the way to go was to tell them they should pick out some pets for at grandma's house. So heads up grandma...... they are coming your way with this one!!!

This grandma is still foster parenting the final five of the 20+ fishies until I can transport them to Emily. I think the next batch of pets should go to Green Grandma.

Oh no, Don't look at Green Grandma. I have already done my time with a 50 gallon fish tank. And the only poo poo that I want to clean up after comes in a grandchild's diaper.

Too funny. You know when Abby was little she thought that you were to just "look" at the animals in the stores, even the fish in Wal-mart and I figured I wouldn't tell her any different until I needed too -- well one day an elderly man was standing there as we were watching the fish and he said "Which one is your mommy going to buy you?" My cover was blown and she looked at me and said "You mean we can BUY them?" Don't you know we came home with 2 fish that day, fish tank and all that goes with them and like you --ended up with a fish tank full of fish within about a week.
We now have 2 small dogs and she would love to have more but it sure is hard when renting to get someone to take 1 dog let alone 2 so for now I'm safe.
