Pumpkin Carving

Had my friends Missy, Kelli and Arwen over with their kids today to do a little pumpkin carving. My friends have been giving me flack because I have never "carved" pumpkins with my kids...blah blah blah...!! I have taken the easy way out every year and had them either paint or sticker the things.

We go to the pumpkin patch with my friends and their families the other night and they are bustin on me because Chase yells out...."hey mom..there are seeds in this pumpkin!"

So I decide to get the little book with the kit and show them today we should use one of the templates and make a "cool" pumpkin with the kids. Missy right away says "No...my kids don't know about that - I just do triangle eyes...don't let them see that!" Kelli takes it and picks out a nice skeleton head thing. Tatum decides on, of course, a Sleeping Beauty pumpkin. We get started carving. Missy is over there chiseling away at her specialty - triangle eyes and mouth. Kelli right away ditches her skeleton template and just goes for the triangle eyes and mouth....totally bailing on me!! I start mine with no confidence from my girls!! Well they got done fast with their boring pumpkins and I put mine aside so I could hang out with them before they had to leave. Well here you are girls........ours is done. Don't think I am not going to show your kids how cool ours is. So you better step up your game for next year!!!
