Our Getaway and Our Reality

Our Resort Getaway

Last weekend our neighbors invited us along on a last minute getaway (without kids) at a Scottsdale resort.
I didn't get many pics but the view from our room shows just how breathtaking AZ can be!
The weather is finally starting to cool down a bit as we are headed into perfect AZ temps!

One of My Latest Projects

So... I am not one to sit still (a trait Jim loves and hates about me). I have been going to the gym daily, helping out at school and trying to redeem this house with some cleaning.
I had this hair-brained idea to get some painting done in the house and the kids wanted desperately to help. I get most of it done while they are in school but I had to give in and let them do just a bit.

Tatum's Class

On Wednesday I got to join Tatum in class for
Shadow-a-Kindergartner-Day.
Truly amazing how much they have learned in the short time since school started.
They are reading certain sight words, writing sentences that the teacher calls out and the sign language they know is phenomenal (letters, many words and sentences).
I am just amazed at how far Kindergarten has come!

Tatum is so serious at work too!
The other kids were all chatty with their parents while Tatum breezed through several of her jobs and assignments.
Nothing like getting five from your teacher for job well done on your homework!!

And Yes...More Football

Tatum and Chase have been playing football together quite a bit this last week.
Don't worry about little Tatum... she can hold her own with him and gets some good tackles in herself!

A New Reading Spot? ...Thanks Mom

Our precious children...
This cabinet used to have all sorts of pictures and knicknacks on top of it.
All cleaned up from painting and these two decide it makes for a nice little reading bench???
